Updated March 2026

Share

This is general guidance based on the ChargeX MREC standard. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure.

Critical

Your Volvo EV is showing a service warning for the charging system. This typically indicates a fault with the onboard charger, the charge port module, or a high-voltage component.

What to do

  1. Try a different charger to confirm the issue is with the vehicle, not the charger
  2. Restart the vehicle and attempt charging again
  3. Check the Volvo Cars app for more details about the fault
  4. If the warning persists, schedule a service visit. Do not ignore charging system warnings
  5. AC and DC charging may be affected differently. Try both if possible

Who's responsible?
