Warning
Your vehicle's battery is too cold to accept a charge, especially at high speed. The battery management system limits or blocks charging to prevent damage to the cells. This is common in winter.
What to do
- If you are DC fast charging, the car may need time to warm the battery. Wait and retry
- Drive for 10 to 15 minutes before charging. Driving warms the battery naturally
- Use your car's pre-conditioning feature if it has one. Some cars can warm the battery when you navigate to a charger
- AC (slow) charging may still work at a reduced rate while the battery warms up
