Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or process personal user data.

When you use EVCourse:

  • Your driving pattern inputs are stored locally in your browser only
  • Shareable URLs encode your configuration data, but these are not transmitted to or stored on our servers
  • We do not maintain a user database

Progressive Web App (PWA) & Offline Functionality

EVCourse can be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on your device for a native app-like experience.

What gets stored on your device:

  • Static application files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images) are cached locally to enable offline functionality
  • These cached files allow the app to load quickly and work without an internet connection after your first visit
  • No personal data or tracking information is stored in the service worker cache
  • Your driving pattern inputs remain in your browser's local storage (as described in the Data Collection section above)

Storage duration:

  • Cached files are automatically updated when we deploy new versions of the app
  • You can clear the cache at any time through your browser settings or by uninstalling the PWA

User control:

  • You can install the PWA by clicking the install prompt in your browser (available on mobile and tablet devices)
  • To uninstall: Remove the app from your device's home screen or app list
  • To clear cached data: Use your browser's "Clear browsing data" settings or uninstall the PWA

What we don't do:

  • We do not use service workers to track your behavior
  • We do not store personal information in the service worker cache
  • The cache only contains public, non-personalized application files

Analytics and Tracking

We use Vercel Analytics to collect aggregate, non-personal usage statistics.

Vercel Analytics does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not collect personal information. The service is GDPR-compliant and respects Do Not Track (DNT) headers.

Future Advertising & Sponsorship

We reserve the right to implement advertising or sponsored content. Any such implementation may include additional analytics to measure performance. Material changes will be disclosed through updates to this policy with reasonable advance notice. We will only use privacy-respecting services that comply with applicable data protection regulations.

Shareable URLs

When you generate a shareable link, your configuration is compressed and encoded in the URL parameter. Example:

evcourse.com/tesla-modely-rwd?config=N4IgdghgtgpiBc...

This encoded string contains your driving patterns, temperature preferences, charging schedule, and other configuration data. When the URL is accessed, the recipient's browser decodes this information locally.

These URL parameters are not transmitted to, logged by, or stored on our servers. All decoding occurs client-side in the user's browser.

Third-Party Services

Hosting: Vercel

Analytics: Vercel Analytics (privacy-focused)

We may engage additional third-party services for advertising, sponsorship, or other business purposes in the future. Any such additions will be reflected in updates to this policy with advance notice.

Embedded Content and Third-Party Platforms

Our website may embed videos from YouTube (via youtube-nocookie.com domain) on the homepage and other pages. While we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, please note:

  • Videos are loaded on-demand (click-to-play) to minimize automatic tracking
  • YouTube may still set cookies and collect data when you interact with embedded videos
  • YouTube's data collection is governed by Google's privacy policies

EVCourse is designed for individuals researching electric vehicle purchases. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users, as we do not collect personal data through our service.
