Who is responsible for your information?

EVcourse is operated by Oy Finnovatec Ltd in Finland. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to nina@evcourse.com.

Information used by the app

Offline charging troubleshooting

The charging troubleshooting content is stored on your device. Opening and reading a guide does not require an internet connection or an EVcourse account.

Nearby charger search

The nearby EV charger search requires an internet connection. If you use it, the app may use your device location or the search area you enter to find relevant chargers. This search feature does not work offline.

Optional online features

Feature availability may vary by app version. Some versions of EVcourse may include optional online features such as screen scanning, explanations, charging history, Sign in with Apple, or paid features. If you use those features, EVcourse may process the content you provide, charging notes or history you save, your Apple-provided name or email address if you choose to share it, purchase status, product interaction data, and app or device identifiers needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, or improve the feature.

Technical diagnostics and analytics

If the app crashes or an online feature is used, limited technical diagnostics and usage information may be sent when your device is online. This can include the app version, device type, operating system version, device or user identifiers, product interaction data, and crash details. We use this information to provide the app, find and fix faults, understand reliability, and support purchases or app functionality, not to build an advertising profile.

App Store information

Apple processes App Store downloads and any purchase information under Apple’s own privacy policy. EVcourse does not receive your full payment card details.

Information used by this website

This website uses Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate site usage, such as page views and general device or country information. It does not use advertising cookies or create a profile of your activity across other websites.

Vercel may also process standard server logs needed to deliver and secure the site, including IP address, requested page, browser information, and timestamp.

When you contact support

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it to answer your message and resolve the issue. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, or unnecessary sensitive information.

Why we process information

• To provide, personalize where requested, and secure the website and app.
• To diagnose technical faults and improve reliability.
• To process optional online features, purchases, app functionality, and saved content where enabled.
• To respond when you ask for support.
• To meet legal, accounting, or security obligations where they apply.

Depending on the situation, the legal basis is performance of a service you request, our legitimate interest in operating and improving EVcourse, compliance with law, or your consent.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to operate EVcourse:

• Apple for App Store distribution and purchases.
• Vercel for website hosting and aggregate website analytics.
• Sentry for app crash diagnostics, where enabled in the app version you use.
• Map, charger-search, or AI service providers for optional online features, where enabled in the app version you use.

These providers process information under their own terms and applicable data-protection obligations. Some may process data outside the European Economic Area using lawful transfer safeguards.

Retention

Offline guide activity remains on your device. Online feature data, purchase records, support emails, technical logs, and analytics are kept only as long as reasonably needed to provide the feature, answer your request, maintain appropriate records, troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, or meet legal obligations. Provider-managed logs and analytics are retained according to the settings and policies of the providers listed above.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. In Finland, the supervisory authority is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.

Children

EVcourse is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when EVcourse or its service providers change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
