This is general guidance based on the ChargeX MREC standard. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure.
Warning
Your Polestar has paused charging because the battery temperature is outside the acceptable range. This happens in extreme cold or after sustained high-speed driving in hot weather.
What to do
- In cold weather, turn on cabin preconditioning while plugged in. This also warms the battery
- Wait 15 to 30 minutes for the battery to reach a suitable temperature
- If the car was driven hard before charging, the battery may need time to cool
- Charging should resume automatically once the battery temperature is in range
- If paused for more than an hour, contact Polestar support
Who's responsible?
- This may be a vehicle issue
