Updated March 2026

Share

This is general guidance based on the ChargeX MREC standard. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure.

Critical

Your Mercedes-Benz is displaying a message that charging is not possible. This can appear due to a fault in the vehicle's charging system, an incompatible charger, extreme battery temperature, or a 12V battery issue.

What to do

  1. Check the MBUX or Mercedes me app for more details about the fault
  2. Try a different charger. If the message goes away, the charger was the issue
  3. If the battery is very cold or very hot, wait for it to reach a moderate temperature
  4. Check that the charge port flap is fully open and the port is clean
  5. If the error persists, schedule a service appointment. The onboard charger or high-voltage system may need inspection
