This is general guidance based on U.S. Department of Energy AFDC. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure. If anything looks or feels unsafe, stop charging and move away from the charger.

Warning

Your Hyundai or Kia EV has interrupted the charging session. The vehicle's battery management system stopped charging, which can happen due to temperature limits, a full battery, or a detected fault.

Seeing this on the charger right now?

  1. Don't unplug while the charger is active. Wait for the screen to update.
  2. Try stopping and restarting the session from the charging app or RFID card.
  3. If the error persists, move to a different connector or charger if available.

Read the full explanation below, or scan the charger screen with EVcourse for instant help.

What to do

  1. Check the battery level. The vehicle may have reached its charge limit
  2. In cold weather, the battery heater may not be able to keep the cells warm enough. Move to a sheltered location if possible
  3. Check the charge settings in your vehicle. The charge limit may be set lower than expected
  4. Restart the vehicle and try again
  5. If the interruption happens repeatedly at a low state of charge, book a service appointment
