This is general guidance based on the ChargeX MREC standard. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure.

Critical

Your vehicle has detected a fault in its charging system. This typically refers to the onboard charger, the charging control unit, or related electronics. This is a vehicle-side hardware or software issue.

What to do

  1. Restart your vehicle and try charging again
  2. Try both AC (slow) and DC (fast) charging. If only one type fails, it narrows the problem
  3. Check for a vehicle software update in your car's settings or app
  4. Contact your vehicle manufacturer or dealer. This may require service
