Maxus eDeliver 3 for Last Mile Delivery

Updated March 2026

The Maxus eDeliver 3 is a budget-friendly electric van that works well for shorter urban delivery routes. With a WLTP rated range of about 190 km, it requires more careful route planning than some competitors. Our app users report that knowing the range limit upfront and planning a midday top-up takes the stress out of longer days.

Why the Maxus eDeliver 3?

  • Competitive purchase price makes it accessible for smaller delivery operations
  • 1,020 kg payload capacity handles substantial parcel and cargo loads
  • Simple, no-frills design that drivers pick up quickly
  • DC fast charging at 90 kW provides a usable midday top-up option

Charging Strategy for Last Mile Delivery

Charge fully overnight at the depot. The 7.4 kW onboard charger means a full charge takes about 7-8 hours, so plug in as soon as vehicles return. For routes approaching 150 km or more, schedule a midday DC fast charge. A 20-minute stop at a 90 kW charger adds roughly 50-60 km of range.

Overnight AC charging (recommended)

Plugging in at a depot or home charger (7-22 kW) overnight fully replenishes the battery. At 11 kW, the Maxus eDeliver 3 charges from empty in approximately 7.1 hours, easily done overnight. For faster turnaround, a 22 kW charger is recommended.

Mid-day DC top-up

If overnight charging is not available, a DC fast charge during a break can add enough range. At 90 kW peak, the Maxus eDeliver 3 charges from 10% to 80% in roughly 41 minutes.

Running Costs: EV vs. Diesel

Estimated monthly savings

€283/month

Based on 150 km/day, 22 working days/month. EV: 276 Wh/km at EUR 0.12/kWh (depot charging). ICE: 7 L/100 km at EUR 1.70/L.

Practical Tips

  • The 7.4 kW AC charger is slower than most competitors. Make sure vehicles are plugged in promptly after the last route.
  • No battery preconditioning means DC charging will be significantly slower in cold weather. Allow extra time at the fast charger in winter.
  • Assign the eDeliver 3 to your shortest, most predictable urban routes where the range buffer is less critical.
  • Monitor actual range consumption in the first few weeks. Real-world numbers with cargo may differ from the spec sheet.

Operational Notes

The 190 km WLTP rated range technically covers 150 km, but the buffer is thin. Heavy loads, cold weather, or routes with elevation changes can push it close to the limit. Best for compact urban routes under 160 km. A midday DC top-up is recommended on busier days. The 7.4 kW onboard charger is slower than competitors, so overnight charging time matters.
