EV Charger Error
What Does Coolant Temperature High (Tritium) Mean on an EV Charger?
Updated March 2026
This is general guidance based on Tritium Charging. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure. If anything looks or feels unsafe, stop charging and move away from the charger.
The Tritium charger's liquid cooling system is running too hot. Tritium chargers use liquid-cooled cables, and if the coolant temperature exceeds limits, power is reduced or charging stops.
