EV Charger Error

Coolant Temperature High (Tritium)

Updated March 2026

Share

This is general guidance based on the ChargeX MREC standard. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure.

Warning

The Tritium charger's liquid cooling system is running too hot. Tritium chargers use liquid-cooled cables, and if the coolant temperature exceeds limits, power is reduced or charging stops.

What to do

  1. If charging continues at reduced power, wait for the system to cool
  2. In hot weather, the charger may need more time between sessions to cool down
  3. Try a different charger at the same site
  4. Report the issue to the network. The cooling system may need servicing

Who's responsible?

  • This is likely a charger hardware issue
  • The charging network operator needs to fix this
