This is general guidance based on the ChargeX MREC standard. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure.

Warning

You plugged in but the charging session was not authorized in time. The connection between the vehicle and charger timed out before payment or RFID was confirmed.

What to do

  1. Unplug and start the authorization process first (tap card or open app), then plug in
  2. Check that your payment method or RFID card is valid
  3. Try the charging network's app to start the session manually

Who's responsible?

  • This may be something you can fix yourself
  • The charging network operator needs to fix this
  • This is likely a charger hardware issue
  • This may be a vehicle issue
