How to Pay at Tesla Supercharger in France

Payment is through the Tesla app or contactless card payment at newer V4 Supercharger stations. Prices display in EUR. Add a credit or debit card to your Tesla account before your first session, or tap your contactless card at V4 stalls. RFID is not supported.

Tesla Superchargers in France cost approximately 0.55 EUR per kWh. The French average DC price is about 0.49 EUR per kWh, putting Tesla above the market average. Home electricity costs around 0.25 EUR per kWh, so Supercharging is roughly double the cost of home charging.

Tips for Charging with Tesla Supercharger in France

  • The Tesla app or contactless card payment at V4 stations is needed for payment. Set up your account before you start your French road trip, or use a contactless card at V4 stalls.
  • Autoroute rest areas (aires de service) often have Superchargers alongside other chargers. If Tesla stalls are full, check what else is available at the same rest stop.
  • France is a large country. If you are driving Paris to Nice or Bordeaux to Lyon, plan two or three Supercharger stops. Do not try to stretch to the last possible percent.
  • French autoroute tolls add to your trip cost. Factor both toll and charging expenses when comparing to fuel costs.

Common Issues

  • Summer holiday traffic (especially July and August) can make autoroute Superchargers very busy. Charge during off-peak hours if possible.
  • Some Supercharger locations in rural France have limited mobile data coverage. The Tesla app may take longer to connect.
  • Non-Tesla drivers occasionally report authentication issues on their first visit. Ensure location services are enabled and the app is updated.
  • Power sharing at popular autoroute stations can reduce your charging speed during peak travel days.

France has several other fast-charging networks along its autoroutes, so you can find alternatives nearby if a Supercharger location is congested.
