Tips for Charging with Tesla Supercharger in Czech Republic
- The Tesla app or contactless card payment at V4 stations is needed for payment. Prices display in CZK (Czech koruna).
- The D1 motorway between Prague and Brno is the best-covered route. If you are heading to smaller cities or rural areas, plan your charging before leaving the motorway.
- Czech Republic uses CCS2 for DC charging. All Superchargers have CCS2 connectors.
- A motorway vignette (electronic toll sticker) is required to drive on Czech motorways. Buy it online before your trip to avoid fines.
Common Issues
- Coverage outside the D1 and other main motorways is limited. Plan trips to eastern or southern Bohemia with extra range margin.
- Cold Central European winters affect charging speed. Precondition your battery, especially from November through March.
- Non-Tesla drivers may need to try authentication more than once if the app does not connect immediately.
- Some Supercharger locations are slightly off the motorway exit. Allow a few extra minutes for the detour.
The Czech Republic has other charging networks, including a major domestic operator along motorways, so alternatives are available on key routes.
