This is general guidance based on the ChargeX MREC standard. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure.
Warning
You are trying to use a connector that does not fit your vehicle's charge port. Common types include CCS (Combo), CHAdeMO, Type 2 (AC), and Type 1 (AC). Using the wrong one will not work.
What to do
- Check your vehicle's manual or charge port for the correct connector type
- Look at the charger's labels. CCS and CHAdeMO look different and are usually clearly marked
- If the charger has multiple connectors, try the correct one for your vehicle
- In Europe, most newer EVs use CCS for DC fast charging and Type 2 for AC charging
Who's responsible?
- This may be something you can fix yourself
