EV Charger Error

TCP Connection Error

Updated March 2026

Share

This is general guidance based on the ChargeX MREC standard. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure.

Warning

The TCP/IP network connection between the charger and your vehicle (over the charging cable) failed. CCS chargers use this for the high-level communication that negotiates charging parameters.

What to do

  1. Unplug and retry
  2. Try a different CCS connector or charger
  3. If this happens repeatedly with your vehicle, check for a software update

Who's responsible?

  • This may be a vehicle issue
  • This is likely a charger hardware issue
