This is general guidance based on the ChargeX MREC standard. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure.

Critical

The charger appears to be standing in water or shows signs of water damage. While chargers are designed to handle rain, flooding or standing water can compromise electrical safety.

What to do

  1. Do not use a charger that is standing in water
  2. Do not touch a charger if you see water inside the unit or around the base
  3. Move to a different charger on higher ground
  4. Report the situation to the charging network
