This is general guidance based on the ChargeX MREC standard. Actual charger behavior varies by manufacturer and firmware version. Always follow on-screen instructions and contact the charging network if you are unsure.

Warning

The CAN bus communication between the charger and your vehicle has failed. CHAdeMO chargers use CAN (Controller Area Network) to exchange data with your vehicle during charging.

What to do

  1. Unplug and retry after 15 seconds
  2. Make sure the connector is fully seated
  3. Try a different CHAdeMO charger
  4. If this happens with your vehicle on multiple chargers, check for a vehicle software update
