Winter Range

Mercedes-Benz EQA Winter Range

Updated March 2026

The Mercedes-Benz EQA comes with a standard heat pump and preconditioning, giving it a solid foundation for winter driving. Based on what our users tell us, the EQA holds up well in cold conditions, with the heat pump keeping cabin heating efficient. At -10C, expect about 20% range reduction from the 420 km summer range. In cold weather, expect roughly 409 km at -10°C, a loss of about 27%. These are estimates and your actual range will vary. Check your vehicle's manual for exact specifications.

Maximizing Winter Range

  • Use the Mercedes me app to precondition the EQA before departure while plugged in. This warms the cabin and battery from grid power, so you leave with full range and optimal battery temperature.
  • The EQA's heated seats and steering wheel are far more energy-efficient than the cabin heater. Use them as your primary comfort source on cold mornings.
  • Keep the EQA plugged in when parked in cold weather. Even at full charge, maintaining battery temperature prevents the cold-soak that reduces performance and range on the next drive.
  • In winter, the EQA's regenerative braking may be reduced when the battery is very cold. Drive more conservatively in the first few kilometers until the battery warms up and full regen is available.
  • At very low temperatures (below -20C), expect about 28% range loss even with the heat pump. Plan accordingly and charge more frequently rather than pushing the range to its limit.
