Winter Range
Kia EV6 Winter Range
Updated March 2026
The Kia EV6's winter performance depends on whether your version includes a heat pump, which varies by market and trim. With a 74 kWh battery and 410 km rated range, expect around 295-330 km in mild cold with a heat pump, or 265-310 km without one. Drivers using our app report that the EV6's 800V fast charging remains a significant advantage in winter, since quick top-ups compensate for any range loss. In cold weather, expect roughly 425 km at -10°C, a loss of about 27%. These are estimates and your actual range will vary. Check your vehicle's manual for exact specifications.

Range by Temperature
These are estimates based on the Kia EV6's battery size, efficiency, and whether it has a heat pump. Real results depend on driving style, terrain, speed, and cabin heating use.
| Temperature | Est. range | vs. summer |
|---|---|---|
| -20°C | 378 km | -35% |
| -15°C | 396 km | -32% |
| -10°C | 425 km | -27% |
| -5°C | 466 km | -20% |
| 0°C | 506 km | -13% |
| +5°C | 530 km | -9% |
| +10°C | 553 km | -5% |
| +15°C | 570 km | -2% |
| +20°C | 582 km | baseline |
Maximizing Winter Range
- Use the Kia Connect app or the car's departure timer to precondition while plugged in. This warms the cabin and battery using grid power, preserving your full charge for driving.
- If your EV6 has a heat pump, use the climate system normally. Without one, rely on heated seats, heated steering wheel, and rear heated seats to stay warm while keeping the overall cabin temperature moderate.
- Set your winter charge limit to 90%. The EV6's 74 kWh battery at 90% gives you a comfortable buffer for cold-weather range reduction.
- The EV6's 800V charging at up to 233 kW is fast, but cold batteries limit that speed. Drive for at least 15 minutes before a DC charging stop, or use preconditioning to warm the battery in advance.
- The EV6's crossover shape creates more aerodynamic drag than a sedan. Reduce highway speed slightly in cold weather to offset the combined impact of cold air density and drag on range.
