Winter Range

Audi Q4 e-tron Winter Range

Updated March 2026

The Audi Q4 e-tron offers preconditioning as standard and an optional heat pump that makes a meaningful difference in cold weather. Drivers using our app report that winter range depends significantly on whether your Q4 has the heat pump installed. At -10C with the heat pump, expect about 20% range reduction from the 430 km rated range. Without it, losses can be higher. In cold weather, expect roughly 411 km at -10°C, a loss of about 27%. These are estimates and your actual range will vary. Check your vehicle's manual for exact specifications.

Maximizing Winter Range

  • Precondition the Q4 e-tron through the myAudi app while plugged in. This warms the cabin and battery from grid power, giving you better range and performance from the first kilometer.
  • If your Q4 has the optional heat pump, it will handle cabin heating far more efficiently than the standard resistive heater. Use it together with heated seats and steering wheel for the best energy balance.
  • Keep the Q4 plugged in when parked in cold conditions. This maintains battery temperature and ensures the 175 kW DC charging speed is available without a slow warm-up phase.
  • The Q4 can precondition its battery when you navigate to a fast charger. Always use the navigation system for charging stops in winter to ensure the battery arrives at the right temperature for peak speed.
  • In very cold conditions (below -20C), expect about 28% range loss with the heat pump, or more without it. Plan winter trips conservatively and keep the battery above 20% for best cold-weather charging performance.
