Scanner Use Case
Charger has multiple cables. Which one should you use?
Updated March 2026
The situation
The charger has two or three cables hanging from it, each with a different connector. They might be labeled, they might not. One is thicker than the others. The screen might be showing connector options, or it might not indicate which cable goes with which selection. You do not want to try them all by trial and error.
How the scanner helps
Scan the charger's connector selection screen or the labels near each cable. The scanner identifies each connector type, tells you which one matches your car, and explains the power difference. It also tells you whether using one connector disables the others (common on chargers with shared power).
What to do
- 1
Scan the connector labels or selection screen on the charger
- 2
Identify which connector the scanner recommends for your car
- 3
Check if the scanner notes any power sharing between connectors
- 4
Select and plug in the correct connector
