Charging Strategy for Home Care and Field Service
Charge at home or depot overnight on an 11 kW wallbox. A full charge takes about 5 hours. With 310 km of range, daily 100 km routes mean charging every 2-3 days is sufficient. DC fast charging at 100 kW adds about 80 km in 20 minutes if a top-up is ever needed during the day.
Overnight AC charging (recommended)
Plugging in at a depot or home charger (7-22 kW) overnight fully replenishes the battery. At 11 kW, the Opel Mokka Electric charges from empty in approximately 4.6 hours, easily done overnight.
Mid-day DC top-up
If overnight charging is not available, a DC fast charge during a break can add enough range. At 100 kW peak, the Opel Mokka Electric charges from 10% to 80% in roughly 36 minutes.
Running Costs: EV vs. Diesel

Estimated monthly savings
€219/month
Based on 100 km/day, 22 working days/month. EV: 164 Wh/km at EUR 0.12/kWh (home charging). ICE: 7 L/100 km at EUR 1.70/L.
Practical Tips
- The Mokka Electric has no battery preconditioning. If your team occasionally uses DC fast chargers in winter, expect slower charging speeds than the spec sheet suggests.
- With 3x the daily range needed, charging to 80% is the best daily practice. Save 100% charges for unusually long days.
- The Opel service network is one of the most extensive in Europe. This simplifies maintenance scheduling for distributed teams.
- Pre-heat the cabin while plugged in before the first morning appointment. It saves battery and keeps your team comfortable.
Operational Notes
The 310 km WLTP rated range comfortably covers the 100 km daily average. Range is slightly lower than some competitors, but more than sufficient for this use case. The Mokka Electric does not have battery preconditioning, which means DC fast charging may be slower in cold weather. For teams in colder climates, keep this in mind if occasional fast charging is part of the plan.
