Winter Range

Fiat E-Ducato Winter Range

Updated March 2026

The Fiat E-Ducato faces winter with a 79 kWh battery, no heat pump, and no preconditioning. Its large cab requires significant energy to heat, and the 250 km rated range drops substantially in cold weather. Drivers using our app report that winter planning is especially important for the E-Ducato due to its slow 50 kW DC charging speed. In cold weather, expect roughly 270 km at -10°C, a loss of about 27%. These are estimates and your actual range will vary. Check your vehicle's manual for exact specifications.

Maximizing Winter Range

  • Expect about 35% range loss at -20C (about 163 km) and about 25% at -10C (about 188 km) without a heat pump. Combined with the slow 50 kW DC charging, running short on range in winter is particularly costly.
  • Minimize cabin heating and use seat heating instead. The E-Ducato's large cab is expensive to heat with a resistive heater, and every kWh spent on warmth is a kWh not spent on driving.
  • Park in a heated depot or garage overnight. Without preconditioning, a cold-soaked battery starts the day with reduced capacity and slower charging acceptance.
  • Plan shorter, more conservative routes in winter. The E-Ducato's 50 kW DC charging speed means a mid-day top-up takes over an hour. Avoiding the need for one is the best strategy.
  • Charge to 100% on the coldest days when you know you will need maximum range. The slow DC charging makes it impractical to rely on public top-ups, so starting fully charged is critical.
