The situation

You plugged in and the charger screen says it is waiting for your vehicle. Nothing is happening. No power flowing, no charging animation, just a message that makes it seem like your car is supposed to do something but is not. You are not sure if you should wait, re-plug, or check a setting in your car.

How the scanner helps

Scan the screen and the scanner explains what the charger is actually waiting for. It might be a communication handshake, your car's battery management system preparing, or an issue with the connection. The scanner tells you whether to wait a moment, re-plug, or check your car's settings.

What to do

  1. 1

Scan the 'waiting for vehicle' screen

  2. 2

Read whether the scanner identifies a normal handshake delay or a potential issue

  3. 3

If instructed, check your car is in park with charging enabled

  4. 4

Re-plug if the scanner identifies a connection problem
