BP Pulse in Germany

Updated March 2026

BP Pulse operates fast chargers across Germany with speeds up to 300 kW, primarily at Autobahn rest stops and urban hubs. Germany's Eichrecht calibration law means every charger must show transparent per-kWh pricing, so you always know what you are paying. Based on what our users tell us, BP Pulse is a solid option for Autobahn trips, though direct comparison with other operators is worth doing since pricing varies.

How to Pay at BP Pulse in Germany

BP Pulse in Germany accepts the BP Pulse app, contactless payment, and RFID cards. Thanks to eRoaming, you can also start sessions through third-party apps connected to the Hubject platform. Contactless bank cards work at most newer installations and require no registration.

BP Pulse charges around 0.65 EUR/kWh on average for DC fast charging in Germany, slightly above the national DC average of about 0.59 EUR/kWh. Home electricity in Germany is among the most expensive in Europe at roughly 0.35 EUR/kWh. The gap between home and public charging is smaller here than in many other countries, but home charging is still about half the cost.

Tips for Charging with BP Pulse in Germany

  • Germany's Eichrecht law requires chargers to display transparent kWh-based billing. You will see the exact price per kWh on the charger screen before you start.
  • CCS2 is the universal DC connector in Germany. Every BP Pulse fast charger supports it.
  • eRoaming via Hubject is widely available in Germany, meaning you can often access BP Pulse chargers through other charging apps if you prefer.
  • Autobahn Raststätten (service areas) are the most common BP Pulse locations. These are accessible directly from the motorway without exiting.
  • If you are crossing Germany on a long trip, plan stops roughly every 150-200 km. Autobahn charger spacing is generally good, but some stretches in eastern Germany have fewer options.

Common Issues

  • Some BP Pulse stations share power between multiple stalls. If another car is charging next to you, your speed may be lower than expected.
  • Authentication through eRoaming apps can occasionally take longer than using the native BP Pulse app. If it stalls, switch to contactless.
  • Autobahn service area chargers can be busy during holiday traffic, particularly heading south toward Austria or Switzerland.

Germany has one of the densest fast-charging networks in Europe, with many other operators available along the Autobahn and in cities.
