Charging Strategy for Municipal and Public Sector
Charge overnight at the depot using 11 kW AC (or 22 kW if equipped). An 80 km day uses about 16 kWh, which takes under two hours to replenish at 11 kW. The 230 km range gives enough buffer for unexpected detours or additional stops. Charge to 100% overnight for maximum flexibility.
Overnight AC charging (recommended)
Plugging in at a depot or home charger (7-22 kW) overnight fully replenishes the battery. At 11 kW, the Renault Kangoo E-Tech charges from empty in approximately 4.1 hours, easily done overnight. For faster turnaround, a 22 kW charger is recommended.
Mid-day DC top-up
If overnight charging is not available, a DC fast charge during a break can add enough range. At 80 kW peak, the Renault Kangoo E-Tech charges from 10% to 80% in roughly 39 minutes.
Running Costs: EV vs. Diesel
EV monthly fuel cost
€41
Diesel monthly fuel cost

Based on 80 km/day, 22 working days/month. EV: 196 Wh/km at EUR 0.12/kWh (home charging). ICE: 7 L/100 km at EUR 1.70/L.
Practical Tips
- The Kangoo E-Tech is a direct replacement for diesel Kangoos, staff will find the layout familiar
- If your depot has three-phase power, the optional 22 kW charger provides faster turnaround between shifts
- Use the 600 kg payload for park maintenance equipment, street sign supplies, or meter-reading gear
- The compact dimensions make it ideal for urban work where parking space is limited
Operational Notes
The Kangoo E-Tech covers the 80 km daily requirement with comfortable margin. Its 600 kg payload handles typical municipal loads like maintenance equipment, supplies, and documents. The compact van format suits urban operations.
