Charging Strategy for Company Cars
Charge at home overnight on an 11 kW wallbox. A full charge takes about 7-8 hours, but with 515 km range and a 60 km commute, charging once a week covers most employees. For business trips, 207 kW DC fast charging adds about 200 km in 15-20 minutes. The battery preconditions automatically when navigating to a fast charger.
Overnight AC charging (recommended)
Plugging in at a depot or home charger (7-22 kW) overnight fully replenishes the battery. At 11 kW, the BMW i4 charges from empty in approximately 7.3 hours, easily done overnight.
Mid-day DC top-up
If overnight charging is not available, a DC fast charge during a break can add enough range. At 207 kW peak, the BMW i4 charges from 10% to 80% in roughly 27 minutes.

Practical Tips
- The i4 has an NMC battery. Set the daily charge limit to 80% and only charge to 100% before longer business trips.
