Winter Range
Mercedes-Benz EQS Winter Range
Updated March 2026
The Mercedes-Benz EQS is well-equipped for winter with a standard heat pump and preconditioning. Its massive 118 kWh battery and 685 km range provide a generous buffer for cold-weather losses. Drivers using our app report that even with winter range reduction, the EQS still offers more WLTP rated range than most EVs at their best. At -10C, expect about 20% range loss, still leaving you with over 540 km. In cold weather, expect roughly 600 km at -10°C, a loss of about 27%. These are estimates and your actual range will vary. Check your vehicle's manual for exact specifications.

Range by Temperature
These are estimates based on the Mercedes-Benz EQS's battery size, efficiency, and whether it has a heat pump. Real results depend on driving style, terrain, speed, and cabin heating use.
| Temperature | Est. range | vs. summer |
|---|---|---|
| -20°C | 534 km | -35% |
| -15°C | 559 km | -32% |
| -10°C | 600 km | -27% |
| -5°C | 658 km | -20% |
| 0°C | 715 km | -13% |
| +5°C | 748 km | -9% |
| +10°C | 781 km | -5% |
| +15°C | 806 km | -2% |
| +20°C | 822 km | baseline |
Maximizing Winter Range
- Use the Mercedes me app to precondition the EQS before departure. The large cabin takes meaningful energy to heat, and doing it from grid power preserves the battery for driving.
- The EQS's enormous range means cold weather rarely forces changes to your routine. But on longer winter road trips, add one extra charging stop compared to your summer plan.
- Use route-based preconditioning by navigating to fast chargers. The EQS warms the battery automatically so it arrives at the ideal temperature for 200 kW charging, even in freezing weather.
- The EQS's heated armrests, heated steering wheel, and multi-zone heated seats provide efficient comfort. Use them at a lower cabin temperature to reduce heating energy consumption.
- At very cold temperatures (below -20C), expect about 28% range loss. That still leaves roughly 490 km, which is more than sufficient for nearly any daily driving scenario.
