Ionity in Poland

Updated March 2026

Ionity is building out its fast-charging presence along Poland's main motorways, with stations offering up to 350 kW. Poland's charging infrastructure is growing from a smaller base compared to Western Europe, making planning especially important. Drivers using our app report that Ionity stations in Poland are useful for transit trips between Germany and the Baltics or Ukraine, but station density is lower than in neighboring Germany.

How to Pay at Ionity in Poland

Ionity in Poland accepts the Ionity app, contactless bank cards, and Plug & Charge. Since Poland uses PLN, contactless card payment is the simplest option, as your bank handles the EUR to PLN conversion. Roaming cards from European providers also work at Ionity stations.

Ionity's ad-hoc rate is about 0.75 EUR per kWh. The Polish DC fast-charging average is approximately 0.45 EUR per kWh, so Ionity is nearly double the local rate. Home electricity in Poland is around 0.18 EUR per kWh, making the gap between home and Ionity charging very large.

Tips for Charging with Ionity in Poland

  • All Ionity stations use CCS2 connectors.
  • Poland uses PLN. Ionity prices in EUR, so your bank converts the amount when paying by card.
  • Station spacing along Polish motorways can be longer than in Western Europe. Do not leave charging to the last minute.
  • Contactless payment is increasingly common in Poland and works at Ionity chargers.
  • If driving from Germany on the A2 (towards Warsaw), Ionity stations are available along the route.

Common Issues

  • Ionity's pricing is nearly double the Polish DC average. Local operators are significantly cheaper.
  • Fewer Ionity stations than in Western Europe. Always check availability and have a backup plan.
  • Currency conversion from EUR to PLN can add fees depending on your card provider.
  • Cold Polish winters affect charging speeds. Precondition your battery on the way to the charger.

Poland has growing domestic charging networks that typically offer lower prices and are expanding along major highways.
