Mercedes-Benz eVito for Construction and Trades
Updated March 2026
The Mercedes eVito is a mid-size electric van with the build quality and reliability that trades businesses expect from Mercedes commercial vehicles. With 240 km of WLTP rated range and 899 kg payload, it handles daily trades routes comfortably. Drivers tell us the Mercedes service network gives them confidence for long-term fleet reliability.

Charging Strategy for Construction and Trades
Charge overnight at home or the yard using an 11 kW AC charger. An 80 km day uses about 20 kWh, which takes under two hours to replenish. The 60 kWh battery is smaller than some competitors, so overnight charging comfortably fills it from any state. DC charging at 110 kW provides a fast backup option.
Overnight AC charging (recommended)
Plugging in at a depot or home charger (7-22 kW) overnight fully replenishes the battery. At 11 kW, the Mercedes-Benz eVito charges from empty in approximately 5.5 hours, easily done overnight. For faster turnaround, a 22 kW charger is recommended.
Mid-day DC top-up
If overnight charging is not available, a DC fast charge during a break can add enough range. At 110 kW peak, the Mercedes-Benz eVito charges from 10% to 80% in roughly 38 minutes.
Running Costs: EV vs. Diesel
EV monthly fuel cost
€53
Diesel monthly fuel cost
€209
Estimated monthly savings
€157/month
Based on 80 km/day, 22 working days/month. EV: 250 Wh/km at EUR 0.12/kWh (home charging). ICE: 7 L/100 km at EUR 1.70/L.
Practical Tips
- The Mercedes commercial vehicle service network means you can find authorized service almost anywhere
- The smaller 60 kWh battery charges faster overnight than larger alternatives, even on an 11 kW charger
- If you regularly carry close to the 899 kg limit, check actual range on loaded days to set expectations
- Consider the optional heat pump if available in your market, it helps preserve range in cold weather
Operational Notes
The eVito covers the 80 km daily requirement three times over with its 240 km range. Its 899 kg payload is adequate for most trades but slightly lower than the E-Transit or eSprinter. The Mercedes commercial vehicle service network is a significant advantage for fleet reliability.
