Renault Megane E-Tech Winter Range in Hungary

Updated March 2026

The Renault Megane E-Tech supports preconditioning and has a heat pump available depending on market and trim. Drivers using our app report that its efficient 15.8 kWh per 100 km consumption helps cushion winter range losses. At -10C with the heat pump, expect about 20% less range from the 380 km rating, leaving roughly 305 km. Hungary typically has moderate winters. At a typical winter low of -5°C, expect roughly 374 km, about 20% less than summer. Actual range varies. Check your vehicle's manual for exact specifications.

Tips to Maximize Winter Range

  • Precondition the Megane E-Tech through the My Renault app while plugged in. This warms the cabin and battery from grid power, so you start with the full 60 kWh battery available for driving.
  • Use the heated seats and heated steering wheel as your primary comfort in cold weather. They use far less energy than the cabin heater and keep you warm effectively in the Megane's compact cabin.
  • Keep the Megane E-Tech plugged in when parked in cold conditions. This helps maintain battery temperature and ensures better range and faster DC charging on your next drive.
  • The Megane E-Tech's light weight and low consumption mean it handles winter range loss better than heavier, less efficient EVs. Even in cold weather, it remains one of the cheaper EVs to charge per kilometer.
  • In very cold conditions (below -20C), expect about 28% range loss with the heat pump, or more without it. This still leaves roughly 275 km with the heat pump, which handles most daily commutes.
