- Use the BMW app to precondition the iX1 while plugged in. The compact cabin warms up fast, so even a short preconditioning session makes a big difference in comfort and range preservation.
- The iX1's standard heat pump handles cold-weather heating efficiently. Combine it with heated seats for the most energy-efficient comfort setup.
- Set your winter charge limit to 90%. The iX1's 64.7 kWh battery is moderate in size, so the extra 10% provides a meaningful range buffer in cold conditions.
- The iX1 supports DC fast charging at up to 128 kW, but cold batteries charge slower. Use the BMW app's climate timer or drive for at least 15 minutes before stopping at a fast charger to warm the battery.
- Park in a garage when possible. The iX1's smaller battery cools down relatively quickly when parked outside in freezing temperatures, and a garage, even unheated, slows that heat loss.
