Explanation
ChaoJi is a new charging connector standard being developed as a collaboration between China's GB/T standard organization and Japan's CHAdeMO Association. The goal is to create a universal, high-power connector that could eventually replace regional standards and unify global charging infrastructure. ChaoJi is designed to support up to 900 kW.
The connector is smaller and more ergonomic than current CCS2 connectors despite supporting higher power levels. It uses liquid cooling for the cable and advanced safety features. The development process includes backward compatibility with existing GB/T and CHAdeMO infrastructure through adapters.
ChaoJi is still in development and not yet commercially deployed. Its potential to become a global standard depends on whether European and North American markets adopt it alongside or instead of CCS and NACS. For now, it is a technology to watch rather than something that affects your daily charging.

Common confusion
ChaoJi is not yet available at any public charger. It is a future standard still in development. Current EV buyers do not need to consider it when choosing a car.
