Cost to Charge Citroën e-C4 in Switzerland

Updated March 2026

The Citroen e-C4 offers a good balance of comfort and efficiency, with a 50.8 kWh battery and consumption around 15.9 kWh per 100 km. That low consumption makes it one of the more affordable EVs to run per kilometer. Drivers using our app report that smart charging habits can keep running costs well below what they spent on fuel. In Switzerland, average home electricity costs around €0.22/kWh and DC fast charging averages €0.65/kWh. These are estimates. Always check your vehicle's manual for exact specifications.

Tips to Reduce Charging Costs

  • The e-C4's low 15.9 kWh/100 km consumption means every kWh goes further. Charging at home maximizes this advantage since home electricity costs a fraction of public fast charger rates.
  • Use the e-C4's regenerative braking in city driving to recapture energy. In stop-and-go traffic, regeneration can meaningfully extend your range between charges.
  • Limit DC fast charging to road trips. The e-C4 tops out at 100 kW, which is enough for occasional quick stops, but daily fast charging adds up quickly in cost.
  • Charge to 80% for everyday driving. The last 20% charges slowly on the e-C4, and at time-billed public chargers you pay more per kWh for that final portion.
  • The e-C4's comfortable ride encourages smooth driving. Leaning into that with gentle acceleration and moderate highway speeds keeps consumption low and reduces your charging costs.

For the best value, make home charging your default and treat public chargers as a backup. The e-C4's 320 km range covers most daily needs with room to spare. If you charge at home two or three times a week during off-peak hours, your electricity costs for driving can be surprisingly low compared to a petrol car.
