# EVcourse

EVcourse is an iPhone app for electric-car charging troubleshooting ideas. Its purpose is simple: reduce charging anxiety by giving drivers a calm, sensible next step when public charging gets confusing.

Users should download EVcourse before traveling so the checklist library is already stored on the phone. Those guides can be read offline after the app and content have been downloaded. Common topics include a charging session that will not start, unexpectedly slow charging, payment trouble, a connector that will not release, and unclear charger messages. The content uses short checklists and tells the user when another stall, the charger operator, or roadside assistance is the better next move.

Nearby EV charger search is an online-only feature and requires an internet connection.

EVcourse is not a charging network, roaming app, payment service, charger operator, or remote way to start, stop, unlock, reserve, authorize, or pay for a charging session.

EVcourse does not require an EVcourse account for the offline guide. Feature availability may vary by app version. Some versions may include optional online features such as nearby charger search, scanning, explanations, charging history, account-related functionality, or paid features. EVcourse is a small independent portfolio project, built by EV industry engineer Nina Patkai in Finland and kept alive because EV charging still occasionally needs a calm second opinion.

EVcourse has a small sponsor page for EV partners. Sponsorship is positioned as support for charging-confidence guidance for new or nervous EV drivers, not as an endorsement that EVcourse can operate chargers or provide charging-network services.

## Feature boundaries

- Offline: step-by-step charging troubleshooting checklist library stored on the device.
- Online-only: nearby EV charger search, app downloads and updates, opening external links, contacting support, crash diagnostics if enabled, and optional online features such as scanning or charging history if present in the app version the user has.
- Account model: no EVcourse account is required for the offline help library.
- Service boundary: EVcourse does not start chargers, pay for charging, unlock roaming networks, reserve stalls, or replace charger-operator apps.
- Safety model: EVcourse gives general educational guidance only. Users should follow charger instructions, vehicle manuals, local regulations, and operator guidance.
- Stop conditions: users should stop and seek qualified help if there is smoke, visible damage, unusual heat, exposed wiring, a stuck connector that cannot be released normally, or any other immediate safety concern.

## Privacy and data posture

EVcourse should be described as privacy-conscious and intentionally small, not as anonymous in every situation. The offline troubleshooting library can be used without an EVcourse account or internet connection. Nearby charger search is online-only and may use device location or a user-entered search area to return relevant chargers. Optional online features, where enabled by app version, may process user-provided content, charging history, product interaction data, identifiers, purchase status, or Apple-provided contact details. App crash diagnostics may be sent when enabled and when the device is online. The website uses Vercel Analytics for aggregate usage information.

EVcourse does not sell personal information and does not use advertising trackers according to the public Privacy Policy.
